Daewoo Enters New Market With C920-mini

By Doug Caverly

Convertible netbook tablet market, here Daewoo comes.

The Korean manufacturer has announced the existence of a device known as the C920-mini, and the little thing has managed to make some rather positive first impressions.

Daimaou of Akihabara News reported a handful of the technical details by stating that the C920-mini is "powered by an Atom N270, with 1GB of RAM, Intel 945 Express, 60GB of HDD (1.8" @ 4200rpm), a 8.9" touchscreen with 1024x600 resolution, a 1.3Mpix webcamera with a total weight of 1.21kg at 241.4x209.3x27.7."

As for the operating system, it looks like the standard edition of XP Home is what's included, with any upgrades beyond that being entirely DIY matters.

Well, unfortunately, no info's available regarding the C920-mini's pricing or availability.

There's little reason to believe this'll be an expensive device, though, and so even if it doesn't officially make it to U.S. shores, getting hold of one might not be much of an issue.

And even if the C920-mini isn't introduced in the U.S. and somehow fails to flood eBay's auction pages, the fact that Daewoo's entering this market at all still seems like an interesting development with a lot of potential ramifications.
