10.15.08 Toshiba Introduces New Tablet PC By Mike Sachoff Toshiba has introduced its 10th generation Tablet PC the Portégé M750, the follow up to its Portégé M700. The Portégé M750 is designed, engineered and manufactured by Toshiba and is geared toward the education, legal, healthcare, financial planning and insurance markets with prices starting at $1,699. The Tablet PC senses the presence of a digital pen or a users fingertip and automatically switches between the different input methods. It has a 12.1- inch LED backlit display along with color saturation both indoors and outdoors. The Portégé M750 incorporates an Intel Centrino 2 processor with vPro Technology, which provides users with the power to run multiple applications at the same time without putting strain on the system. It also features Toshiba's EasyGuard Technology with a PC Health Monitor. The new feature is a preventative maintenance utility that continuously checks the performance of a laptop's hardware components and will alert users when the system needs a tune up. The Portégé M750 has a built-in optical drive that reduces travel weight by eliminating the need to carry additional drives and cables. It also has a Webcam that allows user to communicate with co-workers and family members when out of the office or traveling. The Webcam can take still photos, record video clips and record audio notes. Toshiba is offering a new, free electronic trade-in and recycling program which includes all laptop PCs and other electronics, regardless of manufacturer, that have no trade-in value. No purchase is necessary to participate in the recycling program. About the Author: Mike is a staff writer for WebProNews. Visit WebProNews for the latest ebusiness news. |
