Lenovo Unveils New ThinkPad Notebook And Tablet PC

Lenovo has introduced two new ThinkPad notebooks that address the concerns of mobile computer users.

The company says the new notebooks are lightweight, have a long battery life and are user friendly.

Models start at 2.4 pounds and offer battery life up to more than 13 hours. The ThinkPad X200s notebook has the lightest weight and longest battery life in Lenovo's business class notebook portfolio.

The new ThinkPad X200 Tablet PC is also light weight and has decreased it weight almost 10 percent over the previous generation Tablet PC.

"We continually strive to balance the features customers care most about - lightweight, long battery life and ease of use - when engineering our ThinkPad notebooks," said Mark Cohen, vice president, Notebook Business Unit, Lenovo.

"From the new ThinkPad X200 Tablet PC to the ThinkPad X200s notebook, our most recent X Series ThinkPad notebooks push the design envelope, delivering tailored solutions to unique user needs while balancing usability, weight and battery life like never before."

The ThinkPad X200 Tablet PC is aimed at the healthcare, real estate, educations and sales industries. Its Lenovo's first widescreen Tablet PC and has up to more than 10 hours of battery life.

Both the Tablet PC and ThinkPad X200s notebook come with WiFi connectivity with optional WiMax models launching later this year.

Both models are equipped with up to 128 GB drive storage and LED backlit displays.

Pricing for optimized models of the ThinkPad X200s notebook starts at $2,242 and the ThinkPad X200 Tablet starts at $2,323. The notebooks will be available in September and October, respectively.
